Must see when in Berlin! Amazing guides with a lot of knowledge about what happened in there. The political prisoners where there in months and moths without ANY form of contact to their people. Insane and very very scary!

This Stasi prison is definitely to be seen if you want to understand what the DDR citizens had to experience not too long ago.

We had a great tour guide who invoked so many emotions when explaining the Statsi prison and the horrors that prisoners endured for very often only expressing freedoms we take for granted

We found this a very well presented museum and are very grateful that it has been preserved for people to witness. We had a guided tour which was excellent. In addition the permanent exhibition has been very well prepared. The people behind this museum deserve...More

We visited Hohenschoenhausen and took the guided tour with an English speaking young lady, who was very well informed and articulate. Here is where the most surveilled population in history would find uniquely brutal interrogation and torture by their own countrymen, the Stasi police, confused...More

ideal is to climb up to the tower behind the road and watch the wall and its original structure from the top. It looks like a mine field, when you have a bit of luck and bomb do not explode, you will be shot from...More

I stumbled upon this memorial upon chance whilst trawling the internet. This was one of the highlights of the trip. For anybody that, like myself, is interested in the former DDR, this was a very informative insight in to how the Stasi operated. Our tour...More

This is an old prison used after WW2 by an organism of the GDR called the Stassi (short for State's Security Ministerium). You can visit the museum which costs nothing but the real interesting thing is the guided tour through the prison. The guide is...More

Why don't you email them? I emailed them about something else and they replied very promptly. Look at their website for the address.

I don't recall seeing a specific parking lot. We visited between Christmas and New Year's, and there was plenty of street parking near the entrance. As others have said, this is a side street in a residential area so... More

Hi there. You CAN visit and take a tour, even if you're not in a group. No pre-booking is required, just turn up (a bit in advance) and get your ticket from the admission office which is next to the cafe and shop. When they... More
