This is the place to go if you only have 24hrs in Germany and love Applied Arts and Fine Arts. We planned to visit one museum not realising that there were several to visit. It’s a great place to visit especially for a severe dose...More

The place is great, here is the exceptionally interesting building of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the remarkable Gemäldegalerie.

Everyone looking for art in Berlin focuses on the Museum Island. Sure, it is nice, but the real gem for old masters in Berlin is the painting section of the culture forum - a building that looks like a 1960s big US high school. All...More

We felt fortunate to visit this museum with its excellent collection of important old masters. The museum has 2 of only 34 paintings firmly attributed to Johannes Vermeer - we saw The Wine Glass. For those doing a Northern European museum tour (Rijkzmuseum, Mauritshuis, Royal...More

Kulturforum actually is not a single attraction. It includes several museums: Gemäldegalerie, Kunstgewerbemuseum (Museum of Decorative Arts), Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings, and the one that is closed for renovation - Neue Nationalgalerie. I think for the above listed museums, you can find their...More

Great curatorial statement, though popularized enough to suit a huge audience, and content wise spread from early times untill today. Dont miss the 1987 iconic work from the Swiss; die lauf der dinge.., Cool to re-see that one!! Worth a visit!!

Berlin's Kulturform is a complex devoted to the arts. I went there to see El Siglo de Oro. The Age of Velázquez, one of several art exhibitions. Over 130 masterpieces from Spain's golden age (the 17th century) were on display. An important period in European...More

Kulturforum itself is only a name - there are two excellent museums: Gemaeldegalerie and Kunstgewerbe Museum, and there is also the Philharmonie. Even in the St. Matthäus church there are always exhibitions.

Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through
the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which
lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood.
Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city:
upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades
and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone
streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through
little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop
