Marvellous surprise. The exhibition My Abstract World had several large rooms filled with exciting modern art, mostly paintings. The surprise was made by interesting settings for a visitor to sit or lie down. And to an additional enjoyment you could use an old time phone and order a drink from the bar. And on top of all this each artist... More

If you haven´t seen the Cindy Sherman exhibition at the Moma or at the Kunsthaus, go here. You get 65 portraits of this versatile artist and upstairs is a collection of the owner Olbricht. Weird and interesting at the same time like a shrunken head, a turtle, ivory carvings,... Curiosity from all over the world.

A great collection reflects the spirit of Renaissance. Besides their magnificant cabinet of curiosities, they also host temporary exhibitions and events. When I visited there was a Cindy Sherman exhibition.

Me Collectors Rooms is a small but exquisite modern art gallery. Every time I go back there is something exciting to discover. No matter if big names or newcomers, I am always mesmerised by their pieces of art, photography and installations. The gallery's café and shop are also worth a visit.

Even though it for the time being (autumn 2015) shows around 65 photos by Cindy Sherman, this is a relatively small exhibition. It only gives an OK introduction to this important artist. The permanent exhibition in the Wunderkammer is very special.

Was happy to be visiting Berlin with this exhibit here. The exhibit is well done and the film they showed was an excellent compliment explaining a lot about the artist. The permanent collection is also well worth the visit. I appreciated the art list in English so I could better appreciate the pieces in this collection.

Auguststrasse is a fantastic street of galleries and art, and Me Collections is a good part of it. When I visited there were two collections: Antiquities and Queensize. Queensize was a good exhibition presenting art spanning the lives of women and it had a good video your from the curator. However overall the gallery was quite small and I would... More

This place is definitely worth a visit as an art lover. When visiting in January, there exhibition Queen size had been very interesting as well as the Wunderkammer exhibit, which was such a wacky thing to see in a contemporary are space. There wasn't many people, which made you feel that you could take your time and enjoy the emptiness... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
