Myself and three friends went here Saturday night. We arrived around 10:30pm and were told it was too busy and to come back in half an hour. We then came back half an hour later and was eventually let in. The bar was busy but not full (empty at the back) whilst two of my friends grabbed a table I... More

Having waited for ten minutes at the entrance, we were eventually sat at a table. The first thing that hits you (literally) was the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke, as you can smoke inside. The waiter took our order at the table, and we waited, inhaled, waited, inhaled and waited some more before we realised that the drinks weren't coming.... More

Fantastic from start to finish. Bar men were complete gentlemen. So attentive and polite. Something different in the heart of a busy city. Can't recommend this place enough! Will be back soon!

Good cocktails, and the atmosphere is a little bit prohibition era from the 1920s. Bar staff generally have moustaches and braces, of course, but (as seems to be the norm with hipsters) a little but slow and inattentive. When I went to this bar, it was still possible to smoke inside, so if you are with a non-smoking friends, it... More

It all started when a group of us flew into Berlin to catch up for a weekend, as you do! We dropped into this great burger restaurant for a bite and began chatting to the locals, looking for ideas for the rest of the night. It just so happened the person sitting near us was the proprietor, who also had... More

Nice hidden cocktailbar with superfriendly staff. The cocktails were okay and not too expensive, and the 20's atmosphere was very agreeable, also because the place wasn't overcrowded. I had a good time sipping cocktails at this bar!

Its a great 1920s style Speakeasy bar with great cocktails and nice atmosphere loved how you had to knock to get in, drinks were fairly priced for these kind of bars would go back time and time again when in Berlin. Only minor downfall is its a smoking bar but I knew that going in so accepted it. PS loved... More

We came upon this on trip advisor and asked the cab to take us here. Upon arriving we thought we had went to a wrong address or the place closed but one of the bartenders came out for a smoke and we knew we were in the right place. The place is great and the best cocktail bar we crossed... More

Having come to this amazingly stylish and classy 20ies style bar for years now, I felt the need to drop a few lines about this place. Cocktails? Amazing. Fresh. Tasty. Atmosphere? Classy, artsy, smooth. Staff? Cool. Smoking? Oh yes! Drop by here for a more relaxed and off the mainstream experience of Mitte nightlife.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
