Prepare to be underwhelmed.... Girl in info desk in railway station not remotely interested when asked for directions to tourist office. Walked to citadel.... looks mighty impressive. Worst cafe I have ever been in. Two rather sour faced women took forever to produce two rather awful Americanos €2.50 each. Find the loos????? Now that is the big question. Cannot comment... More

Unfortunately we visited this after visiting the the Olympic stadium which meant we were tired and didn't visit all the castle . It was nice to travel out to a small town and leave the city behind . We walked from the old town to the citadel . We went round the exhibition and climbed the tower from where you... More

Great day out away from the maddening crowds (though warm weekends are probably humming). Plenty of engaging architecture, history, captivating contemporary exhibitions, theater and outdoor eating. Sweeping views (on relatively those elusive clear days, in any event) all the way to the TV Tower, Olympic Stadium and Cold War hotspot the Teufelsberg. Certainly atmospheric at any time of year... Open... More

We found our visit to Spandau Citadel very interesting and enjoyable. It was not crowded at all and we enjoyed wandering about. It is located about 30 minutes from central Berlin and sits on a small island in the Havel River. The 16th-century Spandau Citadel is one of the world’s best-preserved Renaissance fortresses in Europe and includes a moat with... More

Spandau and the citadel are a great half-day trip if you're in Berlin. This Italian-style fortress has an interesting history. The self-guided audio tour is good. Getting to and from Spandau from downtown is a snap, and walking around the old town center is worth the trip alone.

There is a lot to see here and it may take more than one visit. I saw the Cammander's House, tower, City History Museum Spandau and the Parade Hall. It was cold so, after a walk around the grounds, I called it a day. I will see the rest next year. I think that the Zitadelle U-Bahn station is closed... More

I went their with my sister and brother. First , it is not crowded so no one will annoy you. It was the first time i visit a fortress. I found it quite interesting to see the the cannons and the tower. You can also see that it was lower than it is now. It has different kind of gallery... More

We stayed there on December 3, at dusk with an amazing sunset. So we could take very good and impressive photos from the outside and inside, also from the tower. It is an authentic historical construction with a typical architecture, so it is absolutely not correct what another person wrote (,large supermarket car park surrounded by office buildings'). The Spandau... More
