Berlin from below... Descend with us! Experience the history of Berlin from an unconventional perspective! Since 1999, the Berlin Underworlds Association has been offering regular tours into some of the most important underground structures in the city. Although the majority of our tours are in or near Gesundbrunnen station in the north of Berlin, we also offer tours in several other subterranean complexes that are otherwise not publicly accessible.

We selected the two hour "M" tour about the escape stories from East to West Berlin. Very detailed tour, and only now it became clear what the impact was of the sudden installation of the wall. Families were ripped apart overnight.

We did the cold war bunker tour and it was incredible. So interesting. Only negative is the ticketing system which forces you to turn up a few hours before your tour to buy a ticket and then hang around somewhere with not much to do...More

We did the Dark World tour a couple weeks ago, and we both thought it was amazing. Super interesting. It's 1.5 hours long, and all very fascinating. I tried to work another tour into our schedule, but it just didn't work out. Next time! We...More

Probably the best tour I have ever taken. To start with, our guide Anja was simply amazing, extremely informative and passionate, she made even the most dreary and deathly things sound exciting and fun. And oh, she made us laugh so much. I know, clearly...More

This one definitely one of the most interesting and fun historic tour I've done so far in Germany. That speaks a lot considering I'm not that big into history. From the beginning of the tour walking into the walls and seeing how Germans survived during...More

Takes a while to queue up & buy timed tickets. I did English tour #1, and it was a massively insightful view on how the air raid shelter was used in WW2. Provided a good tour and view of living conditions for those who used...More

I think it's a bit close to take all three tours. Some of them takes more than 2 hours so it's advisable to have sometime in between. And most tours are underground or in abandoned places so you might not have toilets nearby.

At the tour office on the day. You cannot buy in advance or online but they do accept cards. Allow enough time though as the tours have restricted numbers.
