Tiergarten is a massive urban park, littered with statues, memorials and features. It is well worth adding in to your itinerary and factoring in something at either end to do. Starting on the East side you can visit the church ruins and KaDeWe before walking through the park, admiring the victoru tower and passing under the Brandenburg Gate. From the... More

We had a lovely walk through the gardens after visiting the Victory Tower, on our way to the Brandenburg Gate. There were lots of people there walking their digs or having some romantic fun in the snow. It seems very well cared for, and is well laid out creating lots of varied routes to get through the park. I would... More

We were lucky enough to visit when it had been snowing and the views were spectacular and tranquil. Such a pleasant stroll through a beautiful park, would love to come back in summer to see the hustle and bustle and rest with a picnic but feel very humbled to have been able to witness the beauty in the snow.

After my visit to the Reichstag Dome I wanted to walk through the Tiergarten to the Brandenburg Gate, sadly, that was impossible because of the fences that surrounded the park as far as I could see. Even when I was on the bus, I couldn't see any area where I could possibly enter and walk around the park. Maybe it's... More

Firstly its a relatively large zoo in the midst of a great city. The entrance designed with a Chinese Gate, held a regal feeling, so unique I could hardly wait to enter under it. I was in awe. Inside, the areas were very green, I felt that perhaps even the animals may have been at ease. The individual areas where... More

If you are staying near the park instead of using public transport take a walk through the Tiergarten. Lovely walks great for kids to run around

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
