The plaza is very nice, impressive buildings to behold. We went for the Christmas Market that was taking place, which had a good range of stalls and food/drink options. It was busy, as you'd expect, but well worth the entrance fee, with what's on offer,...More

Perhaps the most pretty plaza of Berlin, with the Opera, the german cathedral and the french cathedral. Both latter are almost identical and the german cathedral entails an exhibition about the german parliament and the german federation.

Gendarmenmarkt is one of beautiful, relatively silent and neat parts of Berlin. In the square, there are beautiful buildings and churches, as well as very good restaurants. Nice to have dinner in one of the traditional restaurants and take a walk afterwards.

The square is surrounded by beautiful old buildings and outdoor cafes. In the middle of the square you see the " Konzerthaus", with at its sides the French and German Cathedral. Its very near to Friedrichsstrasse (U Bahnhof Fransosische Strasse or Mitte)

Well worth visiting if you're a fan of stunning architecture. In the summer they have open air events!

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
