This is a busy square, at the end of Unter den Linden, next to Brandenburg gate. While the square itself is anything but unique, its proximity to the famous gate does all the difference in the world.

The market itself is nice, with the embassy buildings and the hotel, but it is very crowded with a lot of tourists and with the guys that are always asking you if you want a bike, a tuc tuc :)

We recently visited Berlin and enjoyed a couple visits to Pariser Platz where you find the landmark Brandenburg Gate. Pariser Platz was also a focal point of the East and West Berlin divide and an important location where the infamous Berlin Wall separated the city in two during the Cold War era. Unfortunately, the Gate and much of Pariser Platz... More

This is a most impressive square that has been rebuilt after the war - it offers an unrivalled vista and panoramic view of the Brandenburger Tor. Granite flagstones with cobblestone mosaic work,a raised central green area and restored fountains combine to convey a sense of restrained classical elegance. The replicas of Schupmann's distinctive candelabra street lanterns (the originals were designed... More

This was a nice area to visit to take photos of the Brandenberg Gate and can be very busy. At Christmas there was a lovely Christmas tree.

It's the Brandemburg Gate's square. It's lively, good for people watching, and also a famous meeting point. Be ready to take a lot of pictures!

If this square were anywhere else, nobody would pay much attention to it. But I think that's an asset - you don't need an eye-catching square. You're here to see the Brandenburger Tor. Anything elaborate would just detract from the Tor, so I think this square is perfect. Aesthetically I also very much appreciate its clean lines and minimalist design.... More

Our Princess Cruise Tour took us to this square and then we began our walk to several important locations. It is a major square and it is very busy. We did not see any public facilities anywhere so this is an issue. Because of the refugee problem and Isis threats in Germany we were concerned for safety but we did... More

Neil K wrote everything I thought of :-) I just don't agree with his rating - place is nice but nothing spectacular there. Just average.

If your visiting the Brandenburg Gate you will inadvertably walk through this square. The main starting point of many of the tour guides and being by the Brandenburg Gate and major tourist destination. There is some interesting architectural building's here including the D Z bank building,Adlon Hotel ( i will stay there one day ) some nice café's and restaurants... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
