Sadly due to construction I was only able to look in from the outside, but I've marked this as a place to return.

Kathe Kollwitz is a great artist. SHe has got an own museum near to Kurfürsterdamm. This monument is excellent. You stop in the middle of the busy city and remember. I would recommend to everyone to take some moments to stand by.

The building is nice but the real experience is taking in the beautiful and moving sculpture inside and to reflect on all of the victims of war and those left behind to grieve. The agony of the mother holding the body of her lifeless son...More

When we visited Neue Wache there were building works in progress and we could not enter the memorial. Nothing dissimilar to the pictures on the internet.

They're renovating the building so you can't get close enough to view this. Would be good if someone could say when open again. It's right in the centre of all of the attractions so worth a visit as will be on your way.

The image of a mother cradling her fallen child is extremely moving. This is an area of great respect and definitely recommended.

This is a complete confirmation that sometimes less is more. Just a simple statue with a lot of meaning just about 200 m from the Humboldt University in the Unter den Linden Street.

Extremely powerful sculpture. Definitely worth the visit... when you go in, it's like you go to another place. I recommend you check the backstory as well - it makes the experience even stronger when you know it!

So simple, so robust, so impressive. Standing here, with our tour guide telling us a little more about the statue and it's backstory, I was lost for words for a little bit. Recommend!

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
