The gate itself is impressive and can’t find words to say all what it represents. The area is well kept and of easy access for tourist, surrounded by restaurants where you may enjoy a nice meal while contemplating the gate.
To me the signature symbol of Berlin is this beautiful edifice. It is majestic, imperial, and imposing. To see the pictures of it’s partial destruction during the war and experiencing its resurrection gives the sense of how far Germany has come since those dark days....More
