I am studying abroad as a college student and traveled to Berlin with two of my other friends. Jeremy was great and showed us everything that we wanted to know in Berlin. He was very interactive and made the buildings come alive. He had videos on his ipad and pictures of what took place during the war right where we... More

This started at the Brandenburg gate and from that moment it was clear we were going to be treated to a wonderful tour. The guide was an ex history teacher who proved not only to be knowledgeable but had an insight into what created the modern Berlin. He was stimulating, inspiring and had an empathy for this city that he... More

Jeremy was not available so he refereed me to Robert. Robert is great to work with, he contacted me right away and answered all the questions that I sent him before we got to Berlin. He showed up right on time at the hotel, we briefly went over our tour. I enjoyed the tour as Robert is very easy going... More

Jeremy was not available but he recommended Jessica, we connected right away. Jessica was very personable, knowledgeable about the history, culture, people and life in general taking place in Berlin over the past century. She gave us many insights that made the tour quite enjoyable. It was the best way to start our Berlin stay. The time went by quickly... More

The three hours that we spent on this tour will remain with us for ever. Our guide was extremely well informed and passionate about his subject. I cannot imagine a better introduction to this (or any other) city. Having completed the tour we returned to several of the venues to spend quality time at each. We will certainly seek out... More

Jeremy was out of town when we were in Berlin. However, he recommended Robert Sommer as a guide. My husband and I were whisked around the "must see sights" as well as those "only the guides know" places that make this type of tour worth every penny. In fact, Robert grew up in East Berlin so it added a whole... More

My husband and I only had a few days in Berlin, and Jeremy Minsberg/The Berlin Experts had been recommended as an excellent way to see and feel the pulse of the city. Prior to our arrival, we exchanged a few emails so that he could plan the perfect day to fit our interests. Jeremy is a Berlin historian, and shared... More

We had a full day walking tour with Jeremy, and he was AMAZING. He came recommended by a friend of ours who had toured with him a few months before us. He was so knowledgeable and personable. He brought history to life. One of th best guides we have ever had.

With but a couple of days in Berlin, we knew that a personal guide was needed to see the points of interest that were on our must-see list, as well as sights we were not as yet aware of. Happily, we had the services of Jeremy, a congenial young man who obviously enjoys his job and has a genuine feel... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
