You will never find this place in one time. This very hidden treasure is the best kept secret in Berlin. Locals don't want tourists here and I can understand why. This place is a very cool beach on top of a parking garage!

Bar with a very nice location and view, but expensive compared to bares in the area. Bad value for the drinks as they were small and diluted. 1 euro in cover.

We stopped here for an early evening drink on our final night in Berlin. It's really easy to find; take the underground to Schoenhauser Allee and walk into the Shopping centre across the road from the station. You take the lift up to the 5th level and walk out onto a beach-style bar complete with deck chairs and a sandy... More

Just came back! Private Party V I P only - do not go there - so uncool! There are so many nice places in Berlin, thanks for nothing.

Executive summary Pros - Great beach atmosphere, sand under your feet, friendly staff, drinks are reasonably priced Cons - Be careful if walking barefoot on the wooden paths as there are nail heads sticking out If the weather is good, this is a great place to grab a drink and in the evening they also have a bbq going. End of a stag do, looking for a bar close to our hotel for a couple of hours before we had to leave, we found this place! Lovely beach bar on top of the shopping centre roof. Sand, marquees, and even beds. Good views. We got lost looking for it. Go into the shopping centre, but don't take the escalators.... More

I visited this bar during a trip to Berlin during a heat-wave. Naturally the bar was really busy because it was so sunny. There are a lot of flights of stairs when the shopping centre isn't open so prepare yourself for that! We had to pay 1 euro each entry which was a surprise, but not too terrible. The ordering... After our favourite beach bar right next to the river Spree and behind the "East Side Gallery" have disappeared, we are looking for alternatives and found this one. At first we were sceptic, but the makers really suceeded in creating some kind of beach feeling. The view is really nice, just barely over the rooftops to Alexanderplatz and the TV... More

Very nice "beach" View isn't that mesmerizing, building isn't high enough for that. But very nice nonetheless. Open till 21u30, possibly closed when the weather is bad. Take the malls' parking elevator to the fifth floor. Ow, and you have to go and order at the bar, they won't come to you.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
