Experience history
Jul 2021 • Family
Visited with my 2 boys 12 and 9 and even if there is not a lot to see it shows how Berlin was separated and there are some pictures showing the point through time. There was a small exhibition showing the wall during different times and some of the successful and failed escapes. So interesting for all of us and finally there was a beach bar area where we chilled and got a good kebab so we had fun.

Absolute scam of a place
Jul 2021 • Couples
Literally a box in the middle of a road with some sandbags either side and 2 guys standing there with G.I. uniforms on coaxing you to take a photo with them for 10 euro a pop.
Tourist trap 101.

Very interesting, a lot of history. Visit the museum for detailed information. The museum has a lot to offer but it is a labyrinth and it can get claustrophobic.

Historic Landmark
Jul 2020
Historic place but no so atmospheric as it was when we first saw it in 1991.
Also, where is that amazing Chinese restaurant that was on the corner, 1st floor?

One of the must sights
Oct 2020
Just a hut in the middle of the road--but it must be the most famous shed in the world. Therefore worth a visit. There is an underground station a minute away.
It is steeped in modern history and seeing it brought back memories of the cold war-a really tense time when further conflict threatened

Disclaimer - at no point was i asked for any formal checks to be made. Aside from this minor quibble, as Borat would say "very nice"

A Historical must visit
Oct 2020 • Solo
The actual kiosk in the middle of the road and the immediate surrounding signage serves only as a photo shoot opportunity. However the real interest can be found 25 metres away on the opposite corner where there is the Black Box Museum. There is a small charge to enter the museum and I didn't go in because the surrounding wall / fencing told the story free of charge. Take time to look at the actual historical event photos and read the descriptive accounts of the stories behind the photos. I spent a good hour or more moving from one photo to the next. They tell so much about the tensions and conflicts that have had an impact on the city from the end of the second world war until 1990. Thought provoking and moving.

Tourist trap! A waste of time as it's not even the original. We were walking to the park and ended up detouring since we were so close. after this it started to rain and it was a wasted day. I do not recommend.
