Great garden to calm down
Aug 2019 • Couples
The architecture of the building is great to see. The garden is huge and very lovely. You can enjoy a walk and a chat in the summer. Take a ride wirh a bike from würzburg, enjoy it and afterwards enjoy an ice and sit at the main

Veitshochheim Palace
Sep 2019
The clerk taking admissions fees today around 2:30 pm was very rude to my friend and me. Further he did not explain that we could only tour with a guide and group. The next group would be at 3 pm and only in German. The last boat back this evening is at 4 pm. The clerk was not forthright with any information and therefore essentially unhelpful. As a result, we were unable to tour the palace.

Amazing castle only a short river boat trip away from Würzburg
May 2019
We made a nice boat trip from Würzburg to Veitshochheim castle by river boat and what a lovely small town was there waiting for us on this great sunny day! Great scenery, fine statues, amazing castle and wonderful fountains, beautiful flowers and trees.I recommend this trip to anyone who visits Würzburg in summertime.

Disappointed
Aug 2018 • Couples
Went here after the Würzburg Residence. Unfortunately they have no English tours and you are not allowed to explore the house on your own. Gardens are pretty but not worth a special trip

Baroque-style castle with a party room with scenes of hunting very well preserved, dating from 1600. The beautiful garden and the open-air theater add a touch of class to this building. There are guided tours from hour to hour and the cost is 3.5 euros / adult during summer season

Lovely Baroque Palace!
Aug 2018 • Solo
This was the first stop on my 2018 visit to Wuerzburg. The palace itself is in wonderful condition, but I missed getting a tour of the interior with a guide by 2 hours, so I had to content myself with walking around the exterior and the gardens. Hate to say it, but the gardens need some TLC! Especially in the form of WATER. Everything was getting brown and looked dried out.

The gardens are worth the journey
Jul 2018 • Couples
The 45 minute boat ride from Wurzberg passes some interesting sites (and some industrial ones). We did not go into the Schloss, but spent a pleasant and interesting time wandering through the gardens (no charge) before going back to a bar near the landing stage for a drink before the return journey.

The prince bishops of Wurzburg didn't stint themselves
May 2018 • Couples
The Schloss itself is fairly small and intimate but perfectly proportioned and maintained. It is however the gardens (free of charge) which are the main attraction with their decorative lake, charming statuary and small private arbours (am I being disrespectful in imagining the Prince Bishops having trysts there with their paramours?). The gardners have gone to immense pains to reproduce the original plants and trees of the 18th century.

the palace was well preserved and had beautiful artworks. The ceiling fresco was amazing as was the baroque designs. No photos allowed inside, but the gardens are beautiful and a great photo setting.

Absolutely breathtaking!
Jun 2017 • Business
I was in Wurzburg on business and I had some local co-workers tell me that this was a must see. Were they ever right! I walked into the gardens and was mesmerized. I was there on a Sunday and it was so quiet and peaceful. What a difference from downtown Wurzburg. The history was astounding and I couldn't stop from taking pictures of the statues. There are so many hidden treasures here that you will not be bored. Highly recommend!
