No wonder this old town is so popular with tourists. It is so beautiful, charming and almost magical, not to mention very walkable. One can walk through town on the many cobble stone paved streets, browsing through the beautifully decorated buildings and stores, or walk...More

Everywhere you look there is a picture perfect view. This would have to be the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I've taken dozens and dozens of photos. The town is easy to walk, it is all cobblestones, and you must park outside the...More

According to Rick Steve’s, Rothenberg ob der Tauber is the best preserved medieval town in Germany, and he’s totally correct. We enjoyed our two day trip there sandwiched between Nuremberg and Cologne. It’s a great place to catch your breath.

What a wonderful day after the walls. Yes it's a tourist trap but well worth a visit. Both agreed it needs a revisit. Shopping is fun, and it didn't help the wallet that there are specialist Christmas shops.

Absolutely charming and the best shopping for souvenirs! It does get really busy with tour buses during the day so enjoy it early in the morning or after 5/6pm.

The Old Town is incredible. It is medieval perfection. Be sure to explore the nooks and crannies. Walk the town at night for a new experience.

Lucky you - a lovely trip. On a rough line from Munich to Cologne, I'd suggest Ulm, Heidelberg and Bernkastel. Ulm for its buildings and cathedral, Heidelberg for the Castle and old town, and Bernkastel for the charming old... More
