Nice place to visit.

I always find this a nice place to visit. It is an old church, but a clean modern and simple inside. Beautiful church!

First I would like to note that the address for this church is wrong as it is on Schmiedgass right near the Criminal Museum. It is a pretty red church and was nice and warm on a cold December morning. Even with it being on the main shopping ctreet of the city, it is sometimes overlooked as it is not... More

The only active Catholic parish in Rothenburg. The historic exterior architect was retained while rehabbing the interior in modern German style - efficient & minimalist to serve the parish. Stained glass windows beautiful.

The audio guide is a great deal! two tour (art history and spiritual), two organ concerts, and several options for additional information. The gift shop sells items made in the sister city in an African nation. Beautiful woodcrafts with religious and non-religious themes.

Quite simple for a catholic church but probably as much because of the purist protestant competition which dominates the town. Lovely slanting light through the arch windows. For once understatement wins the day.

This is a very, very old Catholic church and it is still in service today. It is worth a visit to see the simplicity of the inside.

Let me preface this by stating that I am an old church fan, and Catholic so my comments come from my particular cultural background. Firstly, Rothenburg was/is a "Protestant" town and fought on the Protestant side during the 30 years war. This is the only Catholic Church in town. The exterior is rather simple BUT authentically period, and a nice... More

Celebrated Mass on a Sunday morning and it was perfect! We didn't always understand the homily but we felt God's presence and that's what is most important.

My daughter and I were in Rothenburg on Mother's Day; our families all left behind in the U.S.A. We got up early before all the tourists so we could tour the beautiful town. When the church bells began tolling we headed in that direction and made it in time for 10:30 Mass. We sat in the back row so we... More

The Church dates back from the 15th century. The order of Saint John had a hospital in the Tauber city since 1227. This hospital was due to the risk of infection on the outskirts before the former South Gate, the St. John's Gate. Around the year 1400, the Hospitallers enlarged the church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. On the... More
