Underneath the Rathaus, near the Castle, you can go and see the Old Dungeons. The rooms are very well preserved. It would be ideal if only small groups can visit at once the dungeons, because the space is quite small.

We walked in unexpectedly and managed to latch onto a last minute pre-arranged tour of the prison. Although the tour was primarily in German (this is not a complaint), we still found the prison to be an interesting enough building. We were provided with English...More

prison is located underneath the town hall and can only be visited as part of a guided tour. Our guide was excellent and her knowledge impressive as her commentary really brought the prison to ife particularily the horrific conditions in which the residents were detained

We were told on arrival that the guide could, but wouldn't, translate the tour into English, even though over half the large group were first language English speakers. Instead, we were all handed a ery brief English leaflet. Luckily, there was a lovely German lady...More

The prison was worth the 3.5 euros per person. Turn into the building where you see a sign for Lochgefangis and buy your tickets from the person on the booth/office. Tours start at the hour and every half hour with at least 4-5 people and...More

It was a prison (torture chamber) in medievil times. It does not contain any prisoners anymore. Tourists visit it to learn about a terrible history of in humane treatment. Located under old city hall in Nuremberg.
