We walked past Odeonsplatz several times during our 4 day visit to Munich and found it nice to look at (particularly at night) and far less touristy than other parts of the city.

Facing the Odeonsplatz, the Feldherrnhalle monument rather looks lonely. Although people mill around in the square, it's somewhat like a shed, or so I thought, that people sit on the steps.
The structure itself has aged in time and it hardly turns heads.
This is a historic location worth stopping at, plus you can walk easily to the Marienplatz from the UBAHN 4 stop. There are a number of nice stores on the route to MP.
