I was so encouraged to see what Germany did with their Olympic Park as other cities have let the venues go to seed.
Not so here! This place is used just for the public to stroll & bike around as well as for festivals, concerts, and sporting events.
There are some eating venues as well.
A memorial to those who died at the '72 Olympics is present, detailing each person who perished.

I have visited the Olympiapark many, many, times since 1979. It is one of my favorite places to visit in Munich. It is easy to get to via public transport, and it is such a beautiful area to walk around. It is so nice to see that after 50 years, it is still kept up so nice. There was a lot going on around there in reference to the 50 years of the Olympiapark Munich. We walked to the Olympiastadion and saw that you could buy an entrance ticket and walk around the inside of the facility. But not down on the field. For 3.50 Euros we were all in. Since first visiting in 1979, I have only ever peeked through the gates and fences to the Olympiastadion. This was so awesome! We spent over an hour wandering around, soaking up the vibe. Amazing! And then we got to watch many people doing the zip line across the stadium. Too cool. We had an amazing visit. And all for 3.50 Euros a person.

The olympiapark is great for a good walk or jog. This olympic park is one of a handful that still gets a lot of use throughout the year. Unlike the documented olympic parks that fall apart and are torn down within just a few years of hosting the olympics, this park is used all the time.

The Olympic Park is pretty close to the city center and it covers a huge area. The northern part of the park features a lot of greenery, the BMW Welt and sports facilities for the local universities. The southern part features the Olympiastadion as well as many other Olympic facilities as well as a lake, Sealife, the tower and a few places to grab a bite or drink.
During a sunny it is perfect for a stroll and nearby the tower there are a couple of food stalls and beer gardens to enjoy some simple food or beer. Just below the tower there is a kind of food hall as well.
Any Munich visitor should make it to the Olympic Park if time allows, especially with children it is a nice getaway.

Loads to see and walk around. Went up to the top of the tower for a panoramic view of Munich well worth €11. Stopped for a beer and a bratwurst from the little stalls they have dotted around. Lovely afternoon!

Awesome use of former Olympic facilities. When you see stories of former Olympic facilities going to waste it is a shame cities don't follow the Munich Example. Munich essentially made a giant park for the people on the grounds. Just a beautiful environment for picnics, exercise or admiring the facilities. You could easily spend a good chunk of a day there.

It’s always interesting to see how cities use their Olympic infrastructures after the end of the Games. Well, in this case they obtained a big, green park in which you can walk and relax; you can combine the visit with the one of the not-so-far-away BMW Museum.

Really nice time spent for a whole morning. The tower is €11 but it’s worth it even for about 30 minutes. The park is huge and very beautiful. There are good cafes all around. The park, stadium and BMW Welt are all amazing to see. Take two hours at least to take it all in and you’ll be glad of the visit.

I'm seeing Elton John and at the Olympiahalle next week. Does the venue allow people to take in handbags? I've read conflicting reviews and there doesn't seem to be an answer on their direct website.
Cheers.
Hi, to be honest I'm not sure?
If it's like most other venues you can but they will be searched!
Hope this helps?

Has anyone gone sledding at the Olympic park? Do you have to have your own sleds or can you rent them?

We were only there in the spring, summer, and fall. It was very warm. Lots of cyclists, hikers, and picnic-era, but was never there in the winter. Since there are some very steep hills, it could be a place to sled, though. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

Hello!
My children are looking forward to swimming in the beautiful Olympic swimming pool while we visiting München in 2018 August.
But we’ve heard that the swimming pool is under maintenance now?
Does anyone know when is the end of Construction Period of Olympic swimming pool?

Be easy. The Park is open after 9.00 a.m.
As I said on my review, the park is very big. So you must choose your objectifs very carefully, in order to your preferences.
If you are football fan, you'll don't miss Olympia Stadium. If you like automobiles, you'll visit BMW Show Room. If you love shopping in the fair of the park, you'll go there.
If you like water sports - you'll choose the lake.
But you'll don't miss the Olympic Tower, from its top you'll see a great panorama, including the BMW enterprises.

Il parco mi risulta che sia sempre aperto.
Ti consiglio di andare a vedere lo show room della BMW, fantastico, proprio all'uscita della metropolitana.
