This one is a little more impressive than the Karls Gate, and so if you want to see one I'd suggest you start with this. It has a nice fresco dating to the 1800s and it is also relatively near the Metro (the stop is...More

Of the three remaining Medieval city gates in Munich Isartor is more elaborate, decorated with a fresco depicting the victorious return of Emperor Ludwig after a battle in 1322. The gate, built in 1337, is located a short walk away from the Old Town Hall...More

Old city gate, with a few towers. There is a mural on the outside. There is an art display on the grass island inside. Nice orientation point near the Hofbrauhaus.

Used this train stop for the hotel, and it's perfect as you only have a two minute walk before your in the hotel, also good for restaurants

Funny how the 4 gates of Munich are all unique in structure and representation. Another stunning gate that cannot be missed as your stroll central Munich, just beyond Marienplatz.

We were fortunate to be staying right across from this historic entrance to the city. Worth seeing it is one of 3 left (originally 4) that formed the entry points.

... in the city centre of Munich. Well kept and with a look from a different meaning the old and former times.

Part of the old city boundary wall, very similar to Karlstor except that there are three gates here with some paintings above. Nice to admire but you won't spend long here!

Looks like a small castle gate. Nothing special. Walked through it to get to Deutchse Museum which is about 15 mins walk east past the gate
