The best Concert Halls in Munich, the city library, theaters, and the home of the world reknown Munich Philharmonic makes this the place to go for the fine arts. Most hotels can get you tickets but it might be best to call weeks ahead to find out what might be playing and get tickets in advance.

Gasteig , the huge Cultural Center of Munich , gives a lasting impression ! It has four halls of various sizes . It is built on the site of a former brewpub with strong historical connotations. We were there for a symphonic concert given in the largest hall of about 2400 places featuring Lang Lang , one of the top... More

During the recent business trip to Munich, I attended quite a pleasant concert at Gasteig with a program of Czech composers Dvorak, Martinu and Janacek. In comparison to London's Barbican, ticket prices are reasonable and I had a very good seat for EUR 37.30. Having read what Bernstein had said about Gasteig, I was not expecting a good acoustics, but... More

While Tripadvisor focuses on places, this review is as much about what is on the stage in this concert hall. We were 6 persons, all music lovers from Norway, going to Munich to listen to the the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Kulturzentrum Gasteig is a huge building with a huge concert hall. As a concert hall, it has not the... More

This center offers you a lot in his different halls. We went here several times for concerts, and we were very satisfied with the sound quality. If you look at their concert calender than you know why people are rushing to this place.

It was our first time in Gasteig and we loved it! 33. Munich Film Festival was amazing. The building itself is very nice, logical, cozy to be in.

Spent to nights at Gasteig both at the Black Box were my husband was performing and in a larger Saal. Though Gasteig is not very appealing from the outside, it really offers a lot of different rooms on the inside and several cafeterias. I tried the one at the entrance and below the stairs and was not disappointed by the... More

We found out that James Taylor was playing the night we arrived in Munich. The Gasteig was two stops from our hotel on the s bahn. We new there were free seats, but managed to get two seats near the front. The theatre is laid out so I would guess even those at the back have a good view. They... More

The Gasteig is easy to get to, just a short walk from Rosenheimer Platz U-Bahn station. A plus point for us was that Haidhausen Christmas market was happening just down the road on Weissenburger Platz so we could enjoy a walk around there & have something to eat and some Gluhwein before the show. The bar at the Gasteig is... More
