I have been to Munich a few times and have taken a few tours within the city, but I did not hear about the Asamkirche until my most recent trip. None of the tour guides have ever mentioned this little gem but I am glad that I saw it on multiple tour guides on Google and through Tripadvisor. It is... More

Amazing opulence everywhere you look in the small church. it does not look overly impressive from the outside, but when you walk in and look around you will be amazed. You certainly do not need to spend a lot of time here but I would recommend everyone take a quick look if you are nearby. It is an amazing example... More

You could easily walk by this church as it is surrounded by shops and cafes. It may not be large but it is absolutely full of breathtaking ornate décor. It isn't too far from Marienplatz and is definitely worth a visit.

Smaller than the other churches in the Marienplatz area and a little off the beaten path. But, I thought this was the most interesting of the churches on Munich's "must see" list. Incredibly ornate in a dark and mysterious way - whereas the others were very bright and gleaming.

This church is incredible! It is only small but every inch of wall space and ceiling space is filled with something! My husband and I stood in amazement for quite some time. I took several photos but we still ended up going back for a second look on another day! Definitely recommended.

In the centre of town and worth having a look at as it's near to a lot of the other attractions worth seeing

My son, who had visited Munich on business several times, told me that I had to visit this church. I was so glad that I did, since it is a very ornate church and well worth visiting. You have to be looking for it to even notice the narrow building in the residential neighborhood. It was well worth visiting.

It's close to Marienplatz hidden between stores..had soothing music playing inside... Good for a short visit.

This is an incredibly beautiful church - it's a TON of exquisite features crammed into a tiny row house type church. I literally stood gaping for a full 5 minutes! And then I took about 100 pictures...so much to see, so much beauty and meaningful imagery, so much talent! Please take at least 15 minutes to really look at the... More

Beautiful, ornate toybox of a church. (Not really very) simply gorgeous. Made even better by the organist practicing the first time we stopped in. Well worth a visit!
