About
Look down at Munich from a height of 190 metres. Here you have the best views as far as the Alps. At a speed of 7 m/s you soon get nearer to heaven. The view of Munich, its surroundings and, if the weather is good, the Alps from the Salzkammergut to the Allgäu Alps is just as unique as the Olympic tower itself. Up here on one of the highest towers in Europe you can get away from the bustle of the city. Take a deep breath, forget everything and then relax. From the viewing platforms of the tower at a height of 190 metres, the shiny silver tent roof silhouette of the Olympic park is a brilliant example of exceptional architecture. At a height of 291.28 metres, the most characteristic symbol of Munich is three times higher than the spires of the Frauenkirche church. Since being opened on 22.2.1968, this huge tower with a weight of 52,500 tonnes has withstood every single storm.

The olympic tower is worth the visit. You get great views of the surrounding area and they have labels to help you know what you are looking at in the distance. It's a great way to get oriented with the surrounding scenery while appreciating the olympic venue.

The tower is good to see. It didn't feel to be worth going up, in our experience, as it is some way out of the city. Obviously good for seeing the Olympic Park.

Great views but the restaurant was shut on a Monday!

It's a bit old now but you do get some stunning views of Munich

What a great sight it is to see this tower in the Olympic town of Munich. A marvel of German engineering. We always like to walk in the surrounding areas.

Fantastic views over all of Munich and the Olympic Park. Fast elevators. Limited numbers and was well worth it for the views.

More than 45 years old but still worth to go there and experiencing breathtaking views from the platform.

The park is huge with lots of paths and things to see. Definitely worth a long walk around the area.

Great attraction. Super views over Munich. No rush once up top so take your time. The Rock museum is a non event but that is fine.

A visit to the Olympic Tower is a must when visiting the Olympic Stadium.
The view at 190 meters is fantastic. All of Munich can be seen - especially the Olympic site and the BMW buildings.
In good weather you can see the Allianz Arena. But much further. The view to the Alps is fascinating.
Be sure to go to the top platform with no windows, even if there are bars, and just enjoy the expanse.

To the tower and elevator:
The € 9 is more than worth it. At 7 meters / second the elevator races up or falls down. You can feel this acceleration! Pressure builds up in your ears as if you were sitting on an airplane at takeoff.

There is a restaurant on the Olympia tower, but I did not eat there.

Fantastic 360 degree view of the city, particularly the adjacent Olympiapark, Olympiastadion and BMW Welt. Cheap entry; elevator takes just a few seconds to get to the top and then there’s plenty of space up there even if it’s busy. We got there via a short Uber ride (15-20 mins) out of the centre, and very glad that we did before leaving Munich. Can be very windy at the top though, so wrap up warm!
