I was on that tour referred to below where Jeff, the tour guide, was in fact victimized while getting on the train for the return trip to Munich. He was violently thrown from the train by an assailant who I guess just couldn't wait to get off and thought it easier to push Jeff off the train backwards. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and another guide from another company graciously saw those of us on the tour back to Munich. I knew nothing of the prior incident referred to in the message below, this incident was real and Jeff bares the scares to prove it. My daughter and I enjoyed the tour and Jeff was an excellent guide. The only thing I think they could do better would be to make clear there is a lot of walking, much more than I expected when reading the description of the tour.

We were scheduled to do the Neuschwanstein castle on a Wed. I have booked this one months ahead and didn't made any reservations or hotel inspections appointments on this day as I was anticipating this activity for our Australian market. I was at the agreed meeting point 30 mins beforehand. Unfortunately, the person in charge showed up and said that he had an accident on a Monday. Please note when booking this tour we provided all contact information in case of delays or unforeseen circumstances. The person of this company failed to deliver! His professionalism in a very important industry is below average. He could have contacted all the persons concerned at least 24 hours as he have all of Tuesday to contact guests. Due to this, all my appointments were disrupted. I think it is best to book with a larger company, if in case one of its staff member cannot make it then another can do the needed business operations, not just a 1 man army. We are all visitors in a particular place, your time is important as it is limited. Now, I would leave the questions to you all, will you risk your time and money in booking with this company?

I was hesitant to book a tour to Neuschwantsein Castle because I read how to get there on my own, but I'm glad I did. Jeff was an excellent guide to the small group of seven. He handled purchasing the train tickets, getting us on the transfer bus and purchasing tickets inside the castles if we wanted (It's extremely busy and I don't think you can buy tour tickets when there). Unlike other tours, Jeff does not over talk and is a friendly nice guy. He gives important facts, takes you to perfect picture spots, keeps you on track for trains and inside tours etc. He is much more knowledgeable then he what he shares as part of the tour, and I found that he could answer any question I asked about the castle, Ludwig or Munich. He's American which also helped and was happy to talk about anything. He told me things to do in Munich, how to get there and was nice to hang out with. to go inside I'd recommend you take this tour.

I am a little surprised by all the reviews given here. Jeff was one the best guides we have ever had and the tour was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He was very helpful and available all throughout the trip. Even though we had bad weather during the trip, he made it a great experience. This is one of the few tours which covers both the castles and also is the best value for money. We have taken a lot of tours in Europe and this was one the best, definitely top on the list of things to do in Munich.

As instructed, I arrived at the train station at 0905 for the 0915 meet-up. By 0930, I called the phone number on the ticket voucher. The phone number does not exist!! I emailed Jeff and finally gave up, returning to the hotel. The concierge, as well, called the number, and he also heard the recording that the number does not exist. By this time, I am thinking I have been scammed! I received a reply email from Jeff, the message stating that due to an injury, the trip was cancelled. How about hiring more employees in case of problems like this? Poor customer service!! Luckily, I was able to book the trip with a different, more reputable company. Now I just have to wait and see if I am reimbursed for the ticket.
