The paints outside are perfect and well maintained, there is a sign outside with a number to call to receive the audioguide about the history of this place. Deserves a visit!

Our guide, Constantine, took us to see this beautifully decorated house and explained about the artist and the process he used. It is an amazing piece of art - so realistic!

There is a nice little garden outside the building. However, as we just went to Mirabelle garden in Sazlburg, so we did not have much fancy on this garden. There are few artists doing their fine art work inside the Pilatuhaus of which you are...More

Very attractively painted house with attractive garden. Inside it is now turned over to various arts and crafts with a jeweller, glass worker and wood carver active during our visit. Little or explanation of the house or its history. Held our attention for all of...More

You should definitely spend some time admiring all the painted buildings in Oberammeragau! This one in particular has a working artists' studio (we saw a guy carving masks) and a small museum of painted glass and other arts on the upper floor. Free, which is...More

Lovely house with spectacular outside paintings on the walls. It sits in a nice garden, so with the setting probably this is one of the prittiest painted buildings in the town. If your are in Oberammeragau, do not miss it - it in just in...More

Mostly, people will associate Oberammergau with the Passion Play (held every 10 years), but the absolutely incredible paintings on the exterior of the buildings is not to be believed. At the Pilaushaus, it's more of the same. Inside, it's the home for artisans. No one...More

The external walls on the houses in this town were mostly painted with beautiful pictures. Pilatushaus was the best of all. There was no English explanation outside and we only took a few photos from outside and tour around the other sides of the street....More
