We got lucky with a perfect summers day in Baden and took the MerkurBergbahn. Spectacular views across the valley floor to the Rhine and beyond. A must do if it is a clear day.

There are beautiful and breathtaking views from the top of Merkur mountain. On top there is a nice coffee shop and a small play ground for children.

What a great way to get to the top of the mountain. Goes faster than what you would expect and lots to see on the way up, has you looking for more on the way down.

Fun to be there, nice view. The cable cart takes you up to the top of a mountain and there are some walking trails available. Not a "must" location but pretty.

Baden Baden is not big on family attractions, so we decided to walk all the way from Festspeilhaus to the funicular. Nice view from the top, and we had a nice (if hot) walk over.

We arrived early at the kiosk and were the first up the mountain. The weather in late April was lovely. We walked on the trail at the top of Merkur Moutain and soaked up the spectacular 360 degree view!
