lovely park

Visited this lovely park on a sunny spring day and enjoyed a walk around the well maintained grounds. There is a small zoo within the park. There is a train which runs around the park (small fee) but appears to operate seasonally. Admission to park/zoo was free. The Museum of Contemporary Arts is across from the park.

It was close to our hotel and we enjoyed walking through it on multiple occasions. We felt safe. It had sculptures and was well laid out with a water body in the middle. We were told that it was inspired by Central Park in NYC.

Want exercise? Walk along the Rhône out to this pleasant park

Parc de la Tête d’Or Is a refined, pretty and very pleasant park to visit. Highly recommended on any time of the year.

If you want to extend the element of exercise you can easily walk or bicycle out here from Lyon Centre along the Rhône on a very fine path.

There’s also public transportation. Entrance is free.

The park is great and it is so spacious that you can get lost in the park. There’s a small zoo in the park with red pandas and flamingos! Also, it has multiples lake too!

Not mentioning the fall color and the numerous freely walking birds all over the place.

Huge and so much to see

Spent a lovely few hours wandering around this park. There's so much to see from the elaborate greenhouses to the gardens to the animals and the lake. Highly recommend.

Possible the most beautifull parc. With a zoo. Free entrance!! Nice to spend you're free time and to go to the parc with children as well.

Lovely park with a zoo!

We stopped by this park on an e-bike tour. It’s a beautiful park with a great story behind the name. Would be a nice place for a picnic, and it’s certainly a great photo op!

Unexpected pleasure

We had been walking all morning already (after a late night partying) so I was quite tired. But this beautifully spacious Parc was still a pleasure. The sunny weather also helped of course. We had a lovely lazy stroll, and were pleasantly surprised with the nice little zoo Parc inside and the quite good botanic gardens. And the peddle boats on the big pond also looked like fun. We missed the velodrome track. All in all, if you have ti e to spare and want to relax in the outdoors definitely recommended.

Escape the heat of the city

Access by metro, or taxi. Highlights incl glasshouses, 2 rose gardens (scents!), small zoo, large lake, war memorial etc
Plenty for most of the day.
We then walked back to the centre by going over Croix Rousse hill (phew!)
