We were staying right across the river during our trip to Lyon and so of course getting to the top of the hill was an obvious first step in our visit. We walked along the river and took the funicular up from vieux Lyon. The day was clear and sunny and we walked all over the hill, getting a fantastic... More

For foreigners who don't have this old time technology, the funiculaire is one nice sight to behold! The steep climb and the tight cables that pull the funiculaires up and down from ST. Just and Thatre De Romains is a nice way to get up to the Roman Theatres and to the Church, where you get to fourviere! The view... More

Wonderful and amazing view of Lyon. The cathedral is a mesmerizing place. Wether you are catholic or nor, you must go and enter it to see it's beauty.

A great spot to get above the city and find amazing views of the rivers and architecture. A nice spot to break from all the city noise

From the Fourviere Hill, you can have an impressive Cathedrale and panoramic views over the city of Lyon. The Fourviere Hill is very close to the Roman amphitheatre. This latter is another great place to visit.

The very impressive church and panoramic views over Lyon make this a must see location. Access is easy on the funicular railways and you can walk down to the Roman amphitheatre from here too. Only problem was we wanted a coffee after our visit and neither of the restaurants outside the church or just down the hill would serve us... More

The view from here was incredible and we went on a cold foggy day so a sunny day would be brilliant.

We were passing through Lyon and squeezed this in before our train left. We visited Fourviere Hill the lazy way with tram, subway and funicular, it took around 35 minutes from Gare de Lyon Part-Dieu. We came to see the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, so the great views over Lyon from up on the hill were a bonus. Wish... More
