We had no idea what expect from the Musée des Troupes de Montagne and were pleasantly surprised to be warmly greeted by two soldiers of this regiment, who explained in a little more detail, just what these skilled soldiers are currently engaged in - they go wherever there is a need for specialist soldiers, experienced in difficult terrains. The museum... More

I definitely advise people who have children to go there... it's very enriching... even for foreign kids, because it can help them to understand the local spirit... in an enjoying place however :)) The good thing it that you can reserve that kind of visits for rainy days... very practical and educative

A day out in Grenoble involved visiting Bastille via the cable cars. Right outside the cable car station in Bastille is this museum. I wasn't really sure what I was walking into, but for three euros I was happy to just find out. It's very interesting, educating visitors about the history of the mountains and the people who have resided... More

We visited this creatively presented museum with our primary school aged children. I'm not usually a fan of audio tours but is essential for the multi-media displays and has been very well done. I enjoyed this little museum - it was just the right mix and length. Very interesting and well worth a visit.

I didn't expect much when entering the museum - what a wonderful surprise! Excellent disposition, top technology. The way facts were exposed made my 5-year-old LOVE the place and understand almost all of it. Highly recommended.

I was there yesterday and I loved it! The interaction, the fact that you dive into a world of "real" people that show you how their life was, the kind staff that welcomed us, the audio-guide that's automatic and turns on as you enter each room, the low price.... Everything contributed to make this unexpected visit enjoyable beyond any expectation

This museum is in a way interactive. It only cost 3 Euro to enter and you are given an audio guide which is triggered in each section of the museum giving you a glimpse into the past. They use Wax figures, and Holographic type images to take you into the past and into the lives of the Alpine Mountain troops!... More

I found this to be a fairly interesting museum, especially for those who have an interest in the war / military. The tour takes you through a series of rooms, each focussing on a different aspect of life in the Troupes de Montagne.
