Being totally unfit, we caught the ski lift to the first cafe beneath the glacier. There was a good, small exhibition on glacier retreats and forward movements from the 1390's. There was also an interesting but sad display of wreckage from the 2 (?) Air...More

I've hiked / run this route twice in the summer, and it is one of my favorite trails out there (and I've been on many). The close-up views of the glacier are unique and give you good perspective of the immensity of this glacier. The...More

Best place to really get close to a Glacier and see the amazing ice. Easy to access with the cable car and a great hike through the woods on an easy path

It's a two hours trail, not difficult (average, somewhat steep) and the view is very nice ; in fact, this glacier is more interesting than the MOntenvers, in our opinion. But, of course, you have to go by foot !
