It took Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, one of the most original women on the French Riviera, seven years to build one of the most beautiful sites on the Côte d’Azur. An enlightened art enthusiast who travelled back and forth across France and Europe, Béatrice de Rothschild built up an incomparable and eclectic collection of masterpieces: priceless Sèvres and Vincennes porcelain, works by Fragonard, paintings by the masters (Boucher, Carpaccio, Tiepolo, etc.), Louis XVI furniture, and so on.

A lot to see here from collection of art and China indoors to the beautiful lush gardens that are carefully maintained outdoors. Spare at least 3 hours to get a proper feel for this lovely spot.

A lovely building in a spectacular setting with dramatic gardens and an interesting history. Don't miss the dancing fountains.

We visited with a tour group. Enjoyed hearing the back story of the villa and garden. My favorite part was the gardens that were nice even in January. Views were tremendous. We were there nearly 2 hours.

The most beautiful villa and gardens in which to spend my 70th birthday. A fabulous bus ride from Nice centre (3 euros ?). Champagne on the terrace and a delicious reasonably priced lunch outside with lovely waiting staff. Highly recommend - can't wait to go...More

The combination of house and gardens is breathtaking, even in December (with sunshine). High quality audio guide. Tea room is an absolutely gorgeous space, food well above the norm. We loved our visit! But here, as elsewhere in the area (e.g., Monaco), if you pay...More

What a beautiful home and setting. A highlight in this area, I think. Multiple gardens to view. And since there is a ridge it sits on, you can see Villefranche in one direction and Italy on the other into the distance. Charming house, and a...More

It’s not just inconvenient I would say - but impossible to visit Villa Ephrussi when staying in Paris (it’s app 1000 km from Paris to Nice) unless you had your own helicopter ;-)
