A must on Riviera

Fantastic, quiet, well-preserved castle with stunning views of the Riviera Coast. Skip Eze jardin botanic and go here instead. The views are much better and it's crowd free.

We need more villages like this, Why don't modern architects live in such a village as this and then try to create a modern version of it? No cars; lots of exercise; numerous chances to meet the neighbours; places to drink and socialise within walking distances; a mini market and a mini shop to provide all the necessaries do daily... We stayed in this guesthouse for 3 nights and it was a great experience. We loved the surroundings very much, the view from the top of that area was outstanding and the area itself was very posh and inviting. Narrow streets, beautiful restaurants, very french food and of course, croissants, freshly made orange juice and fresh strawberries for breakfast, yammiiiii

The medieval castle of Roquebrune and the surrounding old village is as beautiful as the nearby, very touristy, Eze village! Native Roquebrunois are thus happy that their village was not discovered so soon, as it is more authentic and not overrun with tourist buses!!!

We walked up to the castle from the railway station, and though the flights of steps seemed at times never ending we were glad we made the effort. The castle was essentially a small keep but it has been remarkably well looked after and the views from the ramparts over Monaco are truly stunning. We had the place to ourselves... More

The views from the chateau were absolutely terrific, some parts have very steep/narrow stairs so not good for everyone. Nice historical site if that's your thing

Check the hours - this site closes early. Great sea views, interesting information, pretty white stone all made for great photos. We had the site to ourselves - nice break from the crowds.

The title I have given to my review deserves some explanation. The inner matryoshka is the castle iself. Some other reviewer said it is "nothing special". This is true if we stop at the first glance. If we know someting on the subject, we find that it is considered the only castle in France, which preseved the original forms of... More
