The climb was a little steep all the way to the waterfall, but my kids loved the park at the top! It was perfect there.

We chose to go here on our first day in Nice & so glad we did. The views from here are spectacular, you can see for absolutely miles. Being on a hill it was quite hard walking up in the heat but that was soon...More

A must if you're in the area. Be prepared to climb. Fantastic views across to the sea and port. Plenty of shady areas to sit to get away from the sun. Lovely place.

You can climb it by foot but there is an elevator at the bottom which rises right on top and it's free of charge. On top you can find the spots where you can observe Nice from above. The public toilet is hidden somewhere in...More

It is really worth going up this hill, the view from up here is just amazing. We have a kid and therefore a stroller too, but they have a lift there so no problem. It's a kid friendly place too, it has a small park and...More

The views are amazing, and the maze of paths are fun to check-out, the whole area is huge. It's a must see in Nice.

Took the elevator up as we were with our toddler, but would have otherwise loved to walk (atleast going down). The views on both sides are quite good as expected and the hill has lots of places to sit and relax, but only one place...More

I was hoping this to be a nature day and although I saw my first ever crested tit here the sheer volume of people here makes this place harder to see wildlife. Having said that the views are amazing and the ruins are interesting to...More

First, I heard that there used to be a lift that allows you to go straight up. The lift has become malfunction during my visit. It isn't a hard climb, so it is still worth going up. The views from the observatory site up the...More

Hello. I would like to know if it is possible to go with a pram / buggy with small kids. Once you're up with the lift are there many more stairs we would need to navigate? Thanks Maheem

Should be no problem, the park at the top was full of small kids when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. After the lift a choice of paths with just a small slopes.
Can I cycle up to Castle Hill or is it all steps?

I agree with all the above - walk up, take the lift (it doesn't go right to the top but near enough) or the tourist train - it's definitely worth it for the views in all directions. Not to be missed.
