We new young Chagall’s art but not so much his later years work. You need to learn a little about his art and biography before going to the museum. They show a short move in English. Watch the film to understand Chagall.

They stated on the museum site that it would be open starting January 1, but it was closed until Jan. 21 (at least). Call before you go.

Beautiful, moving. Film also good. Highly recommend. It helped that my kids were studying the Bible (and reading it outloud as we traveled through Italy and France) pre starting their high school classes (secular/public school) since is so important as a reference for modern literature,...More

We really enjoyed this walk through Marc Chagalls life. It is possible to walk from the city centre. We did with two children. The pictures and paintings is presented in a wonderful exibition. When you have seen the pictures, there is a little cafe in...More

I'm not an aficionado of Chagall, but frankly, the admission price just does not reflect what is to be seen here. A thoroughly sterile, mind-numbing experience of mediocrity. Parking nearby a nightmare, and unless you really want to spend good money on looking at a...More

Walked from Le Meridien to the museum, around 30 minutes and through really cute areas (as far as I'm concerned, that description works for all of Nice). Mostly uphill which always makes me look forward to the walk back. This should be the first thing...More

Be aware it is closed till 2016, we walked a lot to get there. It is probably great museum, but we could not enjoy. I wish we knew, but we googled it, and it is supposed to be working

No. The cafe at the Chagall museum is very pleasant. You can walk from one to the other but if you see my review of the Matisse museum you won't waste your time. Chagall is between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.
