Well worth the walk up to the museum, about 15 mins from the centre of Nice. Fantastic exhibits along with commentary in your own language. Also included a film about the artist's life. For 8 euros it was a couple of hours well spent. Would definitely recommend

The best of the museums around Nice. Not to be missed. Not crowded, no problem with visibility. Walkable from rail station.

The Musée National Marc Chagall was the first National museum to be opened during any particular artist’s lifetime and Chagall himself supervised the construction. There are 17 biblical-themed canvases by Chagall in this museum, as well as several of his tapestries. We were very taken with the five paintings based on the Song of Songs and dedicated by Chagall to... More

I enjoyed the Chagall Museum. I was not familiar with his work and found the included audio guide helpful. There is a fee. I would recommend visiting this museum. There is also a small outdoor cafe.

I was very moved and impressed with visiting the Chagall museum. I am a fine art collector and own a Chagall. Even more meaningful was actually visiting Chagall's grave in an old cemetery in St. Martin.

We knew in advance that this museum exhibits more of Chagall's religiously inspired works. The tapestries were interesting but somewhat somber in my opinion. We also watched a film there about Chagall's life; the auditorium had the most beautiful stained glass decorations.

Old testament themes may not be your thing, but this national museum has the largest collection of Marc Chagall's work. I thought the audio guide was extremely thorough and any serious art lover or scholar will benefit from the insights presented. The exhibitions feature a variety of media, including painting, weavings, stain glass, pastels, drawings and other forms of expression.... More

Seventeen large canvasses on biblical themes are displayed in two rooms - and they form the core of this purpose-built museum, which also has stained glass and murals by Chagall. When we went the place was not crowded, even though it was the weekend, so that one had plenty of time and space to study each painting Still rather unfashionable,... More
