If you are looking for a bit of quiet time away from the bustleing tourists, this monastery is quiet, beautiful and has stunning views from high above in the hills. The gardens are bursting with roses and flowers. Best of all it's just next to the Matisse museum and an easy bus ride from town.

Very pretty church, convent and gardens. Stunning views of Nice and surrounds, lots of steps but leading to some interesting little spots. Not overly friendly attendants on the day we visited but worth a look for sure.

This is a charming monastery like many others but I never skip them, they are always comforting me amd remind how life is short and wonderful. The cemetery is awesome. Never wanted to leave.

We walked the way up to the monastery coming across some posh villas at the Blvd de Cimiez. Take bus 15 or 17 to go up. €1,50 one way. The gardens of the monastery are simply gorgeous. The view is also breathtaking. Dont forget your camera.

The convent and surrounding olive grove is a favorite place for locals to enjoy on a lovely afternoon. Bring a book, perhaps a picnic, and pretend you live in Nice, as well!

We explored the lovely quiet gardens on the old monastery. The tiny Franciscan museum was really atmospheric, and the church interior is completely different to the usual shiny interiors in french churches. The Matisse museum is not for me. I generally hate modern art, but I had a look anyway. I'm always hoping to find something to change my mind.... More

We went to Nice in Christmas holidays and on day 2 when it was raining. So we restricted ourselves into Nice sightseeing and started with old Nice. After lunch, we took Bus no 17 from Garibaldi. Bus 17 is a rare element so it is better to see the bus schedule before planning. There is about 1 bus in every... More
