It is the shopping central of Nice with a variety of shops, cafe and restaurants. A lot of people are walking up and down the street and you should be careful of the tram which is passing from this street.

The main road that runs through the city away from the old town and the beach. It is easily accessible and has trams running through from top to bottom. Shopping is plentiful with most large stores and high-end shops on one side or another. Plenty...More

We walked up and down this street and found nothing you can't find in any big town. OK but only worth visiting if you're a shopaholic. I don't blame anyone, but a shop is a shop and only a few are exceptional.

The main shopping street in Nice, with all the shopping you could want. Also there is the Cathedral to visit, whicvh is closed beween 12.30 to 2.30. Nice also to catch a tram up and down the Avenue. Regqards Gary Saunders

Coming from Ave de Verdun, Ave Jean Medecin looks more like a town square. The buildings along the first part of the Avenue have the covered arched walkways of Napoleonic era buildings. As you enter the Ave. it becomes obvious that it is a main...More

This is a long avenue of Nice that is close to the train station and eventually finishes close to the beach. A lot of shops and places to eat. The tram goes through so be careful crossing.

This is in the heart of Nice. The shopping, trams and square is a central place. We love the buzz of it all, especially the water fountains. My little boy lovely getting wet and riding his scooter in between the fountains.

There is usually a 'Casino' nearby in Nice - small grocery stores dotted around. Otherwise, near the front, there are kiosks or small tourist shops that generally have those things available. Enjoy!
How far do I have to walk from Gare Nice-ville station to the closest tram stop on Avenue Jean Medecin that will take me all the way to Galleria Lafayette ? Aslo from Galleria Lafayette, will I be able to walk (considering distance and time) to Vieille Ville Old Town ?
