Climbing all the stairs for the museum might very well be a waste of time. Entrance for adults (no discount) is 6 euro, which is a bit expensive for what you get. The museum is strange collection with no visible theme of different items and...More

It's in the old castle, so of course it's on a hilltop. The climb might be unpleasant on a hot day, but the view along the Croisette alone is worth it. The collection is small, but among the most eclectic I've ever seen, ranging from...More

Well preserved fort, you climb a little, do not be upset, it's worth. Up view of the entire city of Cannes is absolutely sublime. Suquet is very close to where you probably eat, so a ride that will not spoil. You enter through a gate...More

Our first stop in Cannes was to hike up the hill to Musee de la Castre, or Castre Museum. The museum is located in the ruins of an old medieval castle that belong to the monks of Lérins. It now hosts collections belong to the...More

We stumbled across the museum after walking up to the church. Odd by interesting collection. We enjoyed climbing the watchtower.

Although it was an interesting museum it was a little disappointing and just a bit of a odd collection. Would have liked more history specific to the ruins and in keeping with Cannes. The view from the tower in the courtyard was the best part...More

As other reviewers have mentioned, its quite a steep hill up to the castle, but the views are worth it, as are the ethnological artefacts in the museum. I had no idea what to expect but was impressed by the smallish but interesting collection. Definitely...More

Nice collection of interesting stuff. The best part of the place was it's tower. You've got to go all the way up. The beautiful view of the entire town and Bay Area await you!

We walked up to the musee during our visit to Cannes. It is a tough walk to get to the top, lots and lots of steps! However when you make it to the Castre you are treated to superb views of Cannes and its surrounding...More

Interesting ethnological museum of objects brought back by explorers, but nothing about Cannes itself. Nice view from the tower, though. Worth the admission fee.
