We always visit this special garden which is near where we stay on Cap d'Antibes. It dates back to the 19th century and now, as then, is devoted to the growing and conservation of species from around the world. It has an excellent position and an interesting history and continues to develop as a work still in progress. We enjoy... More

I walked here from the Old Town area of Antibes. It is in a residential area and easy to find, although you have to go past what appears to be the main entrance and enter from a side street. In late March there were no other visitors and I only saw one garden employee. My overall impression was that the... More

So it's free, which is good. But in terms of quality as a botanic garden, its location some distance away from Antibes towards Cap d'Antibes means that you just expect more from it. If it was located more centrally, it would feel like a nice park with some interesting plant/tree specimens. But as a 'destination' garden, it doesn't really cut... More

After a long walk from old town Antibes, I was disappointed with Jardin Thuret. The garden was very dry and there was no colours. There were some big trees with scrubby undergrowth. All in all disappointing visit.

We stay with friends who live close to this garden, so often visit and enjoy the wide variety of vegetation. As well as being a garden that the public may visit for free during the week (closed weekends), it is also a research site and often houses groups of students studying this aspect of biology. The garden itself is peaceful... More

If you know your trees and their latin names you will enjoy this garden a lot, and its heritage. Otherwise it has the air of a pleasant but slightly neglected garden, which you can wander around in about twenty minutes. It is free to get in, and the only facilities are a basic but very clean toilet. Worth dropping in... More

If you like trees this is the place for you. There's not much else apart from large shrubs - little colour and no facilities. My wife and I were able to spend about fifteen minutes walking round the garden, not quite as long as it took to find the place from Juan Les Pins.

Very interesting to have such good marking of the names of the types of tree, but wear stout footwear as the paths are quite stoney

This is a very uncommercial but fascinating garden particularly if your interest is trees and trees from the Southern hemisphere in particular. The founder, GustaveThuret ,grew here the first eucalyptus on the Cote d'Azur followed by 3000 species of tender woody plants. Some of the foliage is extraordinary. Do not expect eateries or anything remotely smacking of "trade", but enjoy... More

This is a good free attraction for adults who like to view exotic trees. It is a sloping site and many of the paths are unsuitable for the disabled or elderly infirm. There are no facilities except for a clean but basis WC mainly used by the gardeners. The entrance is actually in Chemin Raymond which is a narrow street... More
