Interesting architecture including hotel du ville, opera theatre and near to the magnificent palais des papes, lots of restaurants to choose from to relax and watch the world go by and I can recommend the ice cream parlour too. The well run and well located Kyriad hotel is also situated in this square

Absolutely full of eating & drinking places, all looked good, some more expensive. Just wander round and take your pick

I visited Avignon 6-10 Apr 17 and loved it! I walked the almost one mile up the Avenue République from the train station to the Place de l'Horloge (and entering the Tourist Office) and felt well-rewarded for the effort. The Place itself is delightful and features many eating places, the Hôtel de Ville, the Opera Theater and even a merry-go-round.... More

Lovely place to spend some time relaxing while having something to eat in one of the many types of restaurant. Let your kids go on the merry-go-round

Nice square but not extraordinary picturesque. Visit this place to have a lunch or a drink, sit outside and watch people walking around. In general, the whole atmpsphere is the square is not something attractive or picturesque, just a big square full of restaurants.

There are loads of places to eat but be choosy. This is a great place to sit outside with a drink watching the world go by. There was a two tier carousel when we were there. The kids loved it.

With enough restaurants to choose from you're bound to find outdoor seating where you can enjoy an afternoon café or glass of wine before resuming your activities.

The Place de l'Horloge is a very nice square with lots of nice buildings, a carroussel, restaurants and bars. It's a nicespot to walk around and to get something to eat or even a coffee.

unfortunately the mayor decided this year to ban the so so nice Christmas market - the plaza is always very nice to visit though.

Full of life. It must be something amazing in the tourist season. It was still quite busy and had beautiful views. Full of restaurants and shops. The bells still work in the clock tower.
