The New Jersey meadowlands are actually nicer and less industrial than the Camargue. It was not at all what we expected with refineries, oil rigs and little nature. The beach was ok.

"Les Saintes Marie de la Mer" is what you place in your car navigation address. First I strongly suggest you drive to the furthest point just passed this town, where you find the campers parked on the left. Then turn around and work your way back. My guess is many have NOT done their homework and left disappointed possibly. You... More

Wide wild quiet... You just feel the smell of the sea. You just feel the smell of grass. You just feel the smell of soil. And if you are lucky yo can see flamingo!

I would recommend taking a tour because there is so much to learn about this special place and also areas that only a 4X4 can enter

We throughly enjoyed cycling through the Camargue. It is a really unique landscape (flamingos!) It is also very flat so everyone in our group enjoyed it. But the wind was very gusty at times so despite the flat it wasn't alway easy pedalling.

Great to drive through but we also took a boat trip up the Little Rhone from Saints Marie sur Mer which was worthwhile

We were there in March and we did see flamingos and some of the black bulls that are raised for the bullfight games. Other than that, there wasn't very much to see. It was interesting to see the different flat countryside.

There was a sci book with the main character out of this area. One can travel backwards or forwards in time in environments like this. So glad I came!

Although not easy or guaranteed to see the horses of the Camargue, when they are spotted, it does make the trip worthwhile, to see these beasts roaming and running freely is a once in a lifetime experience, especially so when you can also see the flamingos . a day well spent and very memorable.

Whenever we can we make a bee line here. Extremely serene place, lovely skies, beautiful white horses, flamingoes, nature. Not spoi!ed by or for tourists.
