When I was staying in Aix-en-Provence, we were right down the street from the Pavillon de Vendome. We would often go there to sit and watch the French school children eating their lunches--all of. us enjoying the beauty of this pavillion.

The gardens were lovely and the house was pretty to look at from the outside. With extra time on our day trip to Aix, it was a good way to spend an hour. We didn't go inside and based on other reviews, I don't think we missed much. The history was somewhat interesting, but probably could have done with a... More

I visited here on a beautiful sunny day in March. It is very close to the centre of Aix but tucked away so not immediately obvious - definitely within walking distance. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the whole ambience is very relaxing. It seems to be a popular spot for both young and old alike - there is a... More

The gardens are spectacular and the mansion itself is extraordinarily interesting and well worth a special visit

I was all excited to see this beautiful house filled with its furniture and furnishings, as if the owners left a moment ago. Not. Even though it is described as containing furniture and such, it has a couple (two) dressers standing in bare rooms. They did have four restored periods paintings, badly displayed, that were notable for their ugliness. The... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of this park so close to town yet hidden away.... the story that goes along with the mansion/sculptured gardens is equally fascinating!! you can still see the area where the carriage pulled into the main level of the house even after being filled in.... A great place to enjoy some solitude right outside... More

The weather was great when we got there, so we could enjoy sitting on the bench in the garden. It's well maintained, gives amazing French feeling, like a mini Versailles. There is another garden besides it, it's smaller but also very romantic. We went inside the building, but it was renovated so only the ground floor could be visited. It... More

this was nice to see, but we were not able to go in because it was closed. The park was calm with a few people enjoying it

When I came here, the building was closed. Only the gardens were open to public. Their gardens are nice and you can find many local couples here having their lunches or folks just sitting around to enjoy the garden .

Had a conference reception in the garden. The garden is very very beautiful. The head of arts and culture or something gave a speech and told (gossiped) the whole story about previous owners of this place. The only part I remember: originally it was built for a mistress, and then the mistress got her husband to live together in this... More
