Amazing coffee and atmosphere!
Apr 2019 • Couples
This place has beans from all over the world.
The standing experience was also very cool.
Keep in mind the French typically drink black coffee so I wouldn't recommend you get milk coffee from here (or in Aix). I made the mistake of ordering a latte at first. I don't usually drink espressos but it was delicious.
In terms of service, it was abrupt however I wouldn't take it personally. You order you drink with someone who is making 20 coffees at the same time. You stand and enjoy your drink then pay when you want. It's French!
Don't forget to try the hot chocolate too!

Form over function - the coffee is not good
May 2019
A bit of a tourist trap with the roaster in the window. The coffee is not good at all. The Barista didn’t even tamp it before pulling the shot and there is very little flavour to the coffee. If you are looking for a tasty shot or even just a friendly smile from behind the counter I suggest you try elsewhere.

Finally! Decent coffee

Us Melbournians have been spoilt with our sensational caffè culture & sometimes it's hard to find good coffee in France or Italy. So this is the place that will make you something that's a bit more familiar that doesn't taste like cardboard!
Plus you can buy different beans & blends. They don't mind if you bring a pastry either to enjoy with your coffee.

Excellent

Went here on the recommendation of our local "torrefaction ". We were not disappointed. Excellent range of coffees which are all available to try! Very friendly staff. Only drawback is limited seating. If it rained the smallish outside area would be untenable and the bar is largely standing. That said this helps make conversation. Unusual and excellent toilet a well.

'fresh' coffee
Sep 2017 • Couples
So I roast my own coffee back home and brought my portable coffee grinder with me on my holiday. Seeing the coffee roaster in the store, I was hoping for some fresh coffee. I saw the way they made coffee and it didn't promise much good: pre grinder coffee with a measurement spoon into a dirty filter. Oh boy..

For my bialletti the girl behind the counter suggested the 'Italian roast' and something like 'you can choose anything', again: oh boy.

After some more questions to get a mild coffee (instead of a espresso roast), I got the 'Pouble'. Also because it is supposed to be the most popular one, so I figured the most fresh coffee. All coffee is behind glass, which is bad for keeping coffee fresh, but looks good for sales. Back home, I smelled the coffee, smells dull,oh no. After grinding, I knew it was old, stale coffee. The result is nothing better then a cheap bean you can get at the supermarket. Disappointed.

Lovely coffee and hot cocoa

Nice terrasse Place Richelme. Various coffees from all over the world! Delicious hot cocoa, and in Summertime cold good quality sweet drinks. Homemade cookies.

Great little roastery where you can get a coffee and buy beans. Clearly popular with locals and a lovely atmosphere when the market's on. Unfortunately when we returned today it was s building site. I spoke to one of the builders and it is coming back but he gave no indication of when.

Big, fun coffee selection
Jan 2017 • Friends
Lots of different coffees to choose from -- strong, mild and inbetween -- which you can buy in beans or by the cup. There is a coffee roaster right at the door, making the place smell SO good.... You can have a cup at the bar or sit at a table outside in the very pleasant square. And they had no problems with our bringing our (adorable) dog inside.

Great coffee and outstanding hot cocoa

This place is the opportunity to stop after a visit to the market Place Richelme in tbe old city of Aix. They have all sorts of teas, even an ayurvedic kind, coffees, little dry biscuits, sugars. They roast the coffee beans from various parts of the world and sell ground coffee too. And cocoa powder.

Best coffee in Aix-en-Provence
Oct 2016 • Couples
This tiny shop sells excellent coffees and teas and serves both at a stand-up counter inside or at a few tables outside, overlooking the daily market. No silly Starbucks style coffee concoctions here -- just fine espressos and cafe au lait. There are many choices of coffees to try at this coffee roaster and you can still get the basic cup of espresso for less than 2 euros. No food served but if you want a really good cup of java when doing your shopping, do stop here.
