We lived in Aix en Provence for 5 years and rarely missed a weekend stroll through the open markets. There is nothing that my wife and I miss more about France. This was my third summer in a row to visit Aix-en-Provence. Not only do I adore this city, but I can’t get enough of the markets that take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Couldn't believe the extensive range of flowers on sale even in cold wintry January! Stumbled upon this whilst looking for a cafe & sat & sipped whilst looking at the locally flower stalls.

Whether you live here or are simply visiting, the flower market is an experience not to be missed. There is always a wonderful range of flowers to choose from, the prices are fairly reasonable, and the sellers are relatively well-meaning and helpful. I loved going shopping here both for myself and for friends and family, and still visit it occasionally... More

Aix is not only a town of history, art and culture. Small boutiques cater for every taste, and the market is well under way by nine o'clock, three mornings a week.
