Quaint independent bookstore
Dec 2019
Interesting little store along Rue Joseph Cabrassol, one of the side streets off the main Cours Mirabeau in Aix-en-Provence. Besides French titles of course, there is also a good selection of books in several other languages. You can also order food and drinks whilst thumbing through a book. All in all, a very cozy endroit to hang out after all the sightseeing

Beautiful place for a coffee ☕️
May 2019 • Solo
When I saw this place I couldn’t stop myself from getting inside. I had a cappuccino with a cookie and the atmosphere was really beautiful.

It’s a place to buy coffee or books or both.
„it’s not a Library“

They have books in many languages and the service is excellent. They speak English too ☺️

Bookshop and cafe - my home from home in Aix
May 2019 • Couples
We were in Aix for three days and had coffee/tea and cake in here each day. The service was friendly and excellent; the prices were very reasonable; it was open 9-7, Mon-Sat. We also bought books. I can't recommend this shop too highly.

The best coffee shop and international bookshop of Aix en Provence!
Feb 2019 • Couples
If you wish to take your time and get away "far from the madding crowd", this is the right place. In a cosy and friendly atmosphere, the selection of teas and cakes will remind you of Great Britain. The choice of books is very large on top of everything. Not to be missed: part of it should be financed to fight against depression! The first floor is my favorite xx.

Need to improve their customer service face to face.
Jan 2019 • Business
There is only one lady who knows how to give good customer service. The others are rude and very unhelpful. My last two visits were very unpleasant. I won’t be going back nor recommending them to my students!! In fact my adult students had the same problem with them.

Read and Relax ( R and R)...
Sep 2018 • Solo
What a delightful discovery i happened upon, in downtown Aix-en-Provence : a small café within a delightful bookstore ! This bookshop is located across from the splendid mansion, Hôtel de Caumont, on Rue Joseph Cabassol. Enter its wooden interior and delight in tomes in both French and English. There are both fiction ( Call Me By Your Name - in English, nonetheless), and non-fiction ( Markets of Provence ; Sights and Scenes of Provence, to name a few) titles. The warmly rich wooden interior calls to mind scenes from a Harry Potter- type movie. There are sections dedicated to university students, as well as other languages etc. In the center of the bookshop, there is a walk-up counter- café , with several types of teas and coffees on order, as well as enticing fresh fruit, cookies and cake slices. Place your order and sit down with a good book ( or a good friend ), and relax. There are several types of seating choices, both on the main floor, the staircase landing, or the upper floor. Choose your spot - your café order will be brought to you momentarily ! What a fabulous way to spend a lazy afternoon !

An oasis...
Aug 2018 • Family
After the buzz and hectic life on the streets of Aix this book store is a true oasis.

Tucked away in a side street it is unassuming but nice and welcoming. Not huge selection but yet something for everybody. And the staff is kind and friendly to help you chose.

The in-shop-cafe is charming with good quality drinks and cakes. A must visit by book lovers and readers.

Study Trip
Jul 2018 • Solo
A very cute, quaint spot. It's easy to concentrate when you're surrounded by books (if you don't end up scanning them all out of curiosity...). I took a coffee and a cake and got to work. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The cake was a slightly strange texture but tasted good and, let's face it, it's not that important when you go somewhere for a reason other than to eat.

The space could be brighter but there is a big window downstairs which helps a lot.

Overall, a lovely place to sit and read or study. It also seemed like a nice place to chat with friends although because the room is quite small, maybe not about something private!

Delightful shop

Full-service bakery/cafe and bookstore/library. My friend and I sat here for a few hours and enjoyed the quiet but not silent atmosphere and read for a few hours. A great break in the rain.

Super cute place
Mar 2018 • Friends
Check this place out if you're in town. It's a really nice find, we had a cheesecake (made with speculoos cookie on the base - so good), and a pecan muffin which was delightful. We spent about an hour and a half there, readings books and enjoying the mint tea in a calm and quiet environment. We got a table as we went before the crowd (albeit we reached around 330pm). They have student prices on books so bring your student card if you're still in school (mine was accepted even though its postgrad and in a uni outside of France). Do check this place out and enjoy a relaxing break!
