My husband and I stopped in to see what kind of selection they had and weren't immediately sold on anything. We asked one of the employees what we should try and she led us to Banon goat cheese, which is a cheese that is made in Provence. We found that prices were very reasonable and the help was so genuine. Absolutely loved the cheese!

What a wonderful store this is to experience artisan cheese. Benoit, the owner, knows his cheeses. He instinctively knew which cheeses to recommend to us by our description of the type of cheeses we enjoy. Great recommendation of a local Rose' from the La Coste winery.

I went in and had them pull a selection of cheese for me - I was game for anything! They let me taste everything first to make sure I liked it. The blue cheese selection in particular was wonderful! Several people working here speak great English, which was helpful since I don't know any cheese based French. They have a great selection and there's a great bread place next door - perfect to sit and eat on a bench in the afternoon.

You can do almost all the food shopping you need on the Rue d'Italie in Aix-en-Provence. For cheese i always go to Benoit Lamarie's shop. He is a charming, friendly man who can speak English and advise you on all the cheeses he stocks. Three good cheeses can easily cost €20 euros or more, so they are a bit dear, but well worth it if you're a fromagephile. http://www.fromagerie-lemarie.com/Accueil.html
