On a rainy day in La Rochelle what do you do but look at 10,000 stuffed animals! We happened across this museum and spent over an hour there. Very we'll curated exhibition in a wonderful old town house. Range of animals from giraffes to rodents. Im sounding like a geek but really enjoyed it and learnt lots.

I went there this week and it s a lovely museum but some lights are not working properly so you can't see clear what it's on display. You can't read properly some labels because the typo is horrible. Some windows are old so you can't see through without a wavy effect and some other windows specialy at the last floor... More

A plethora of exhibits, beautifully preserved and displayed in an elegant building, an easy walk from the town centre.

This was a fascinating museum with an impressive collection. We were virtually the only people there which was surprising given how good it was. The adjacent botanical garden was small but very well kept and peaceful.

Excellent educational fun for all the family. Kids simply love anything to do with explorers and there's lots to see, learn and get involved with here.

Set in pretty gardens and a beautiful building, the museum is well presented and very good value. Taxidermy may be out of fashion these days. Certainly our children were saddened to see so many majestic animals reduced to such a state, but some aspects, like the blue whale jaw bones and the fossils and shrunken heads, caught their attention. Personally... More

Adjacent to the small but delightful botanical gardens and housed in a wonderful townhouse, this museum is a treat.impeccable style and display for the various exhibits,we spent a lovely hour here with our thrilled 9 to 13 year olds.Do take time to sit in the Gardens afterwards and say to yourself.."there is a God..!"Beautiful

Was very surprised at how much I enjoyed the museum sort of went under protest but really found it fascinating. Some very rare animals and just loved the big hairy donkey. A lot of stair climbing covers four floors. Glad I paid the visit.

A wonderful and interesting day spent here. So much too see. The building is very deceiving as its full of artefacts. Well worth a visit.
