We stopped in Laon completely by chance because we wanted to stop off for lunch. I'm so glad we did...the cathedral and the medieval part of the city is absolutely lovely. Highly recommend.

I'm not particularly spiritual but, on entering, the coolness, the quiet, the heights...it talked to me...be at peace, respect history. Here, it is OK to stop, sit and just be! I don't know how many times the cathedral has been rebuilt in its nine centuries....More

Just truly amazing, from both the outside, with the gargoyles and aninals to the inside with the amazing roof.

A magnificent cathedral with a large rose window at the chancel end is worth pooping it even if churches aren't usually on your list. With the Tourist Office next door it's a god place to start your visit.

A beautiful cathedral in this pretty little city on a hill. Very peaceful. Lovely mediaeval stained glass and gargoyles (one oddly of a hippo!)

Great chatedral with even greater room full of gilded boxes with bones of different saints. We were crazy to drive our camper up just to find out that there is also a mountain train available. I highly recommend that to you.

You can see nice stained glass windows there. Wonderful interier. There is rich offer of postcards from Laon, better than in tobacco shop. Close to the side entrance is automatic WC free of charge.

Stopped at this wonderful walled town - great find, perfect views and the cathedral is stunning. Park at the top and stroll around. Many lovely restaurants in the Cathedral square.

We stopped in Laon for a half day and overnight. Laon is a step back in time. The entire city is stone with medieval architecture. The walk down the central pedestrian street toward the cathedral was enchanting. The numerous shops and quaint street signs made...More

When in Laon we didn't go to Reims. From what I know the cathedral and the champagne cellars are the musts of the area.
