Angers has many churches but only one Cathedral. From the enormous double doors at the entrance - although you enter by a tiny door carved into the giant one - to the ornate altar and pulpit, the imposing tombs, and the beautiful stained glass windows,...More

Everything is this city is harmonic, a great religious place that you feel the greatness of peace, love and faith when you are inside. Lots of history like all other Cathedrals in France, in a huge simplified presentation. God Bless.

A very imposing cathedral, with some very impressive stained glass windows - all with helpful explanatory displays in French, English and German. Well worth a visit.

Fab cathedral, the stained glass windows are huge and beautifull, the woodwork carvings on the pulpit and the biggest organ you've ever seen are fantastic, so intricate and tell the stories depicted so well.

The building is very beautiful but we found the XIIth C windows (North side of the nave and choir) truly exceptional and worth a long visit. Sadly enough we forgot to bring our binoculars. Chartres has the world-famous blues but Angers has the most gorgeous...More

A rather impressive structure best approached up the long flight of steps to appreciate the front. Inside it is fairly typical of French cathedrals except for the altar which has a gilded structure around it and the pulpit. The pulpit is large and ornately carved,...More
